Today’s Scripture: Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people. Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him, talk ye of all his wondrous works. 1¬†Chronicles¬†16:8-9

Have you seen God perform miracles? I know I have. Throughout my ministry at this church, I have seen God perform countless miracles. In my book, Finish Strong, I recount some of the many times God has miraculously provided and directed us through seemingly impossible tasks.

One such miracle is the time we were laying the foundation for our first building at our current location. After we had purchased the property, we were meeting in a public school gymnasium until we could build a new building. We needed to pour the concrete for the foundation so we would have time to build in order to start school in the fall. The concrete supplier kept delaying because of inclement weather until finally we had to pour. The forecast called for lots of rain, and the supplier told me how much money it would cost to send the trucks out if they couldn’t pour or if they had to chip out the concrete after it had been poured.

I knew we couldn’t delay anymore. I told the supplier we needed to pour 15,000 square feet of concrete. Even though I hated to go ahead and pour with all the odds against us, I knew we had no choice.

As the men prepared the work site, we tried to ignore the humidity, the flash of lightning, and the occasional sound of thunder. As the first concrete truck turned into the driveway, the truck’s windshield wipers were violently swinging back and forth, and water poured off the hood. More trucks arrived in the same condition, yet no rain had fallen onto our property. One truck driver couldn’t believe it, and got out of his truck and exclaimed that it was raining all around our property but not here. Another driver dropped to his knees.

The concrete got poured without a single drop of rain falling on our property. Some trucks had needed to stop by the side of the road on the way because of the rain. No one could believe it wasn’t raining on the property. Everyone was so excited to see God at work.

How do I explain what happened? I can’t. There is no way to explain the miracle other than God worked miraculously. We all praised God for withholding the rain. Think of all the things God has done in your life, and praise Him for them. Tell someone how God has blessed you today.
