Today’s Scripture: Ephesians 5:16 “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”

As the days start to cool down, the leaves turn colorful shades of red, orange, and yellow, and daylight hours become shorter and shorter, it can only mean one thing – fall is in full swing.

As we move into this new season, it won’t be long before our nation celebrates a holiday that kids all over the country look forward to – Halloween. To most kids, this holiday simply represents bags and bags of candy.

Because of the pagan origins of this holiday, we did not take our kids “trick-or-treating” when they were growing up. However, that does not mean we did not take advantage of the evangelism opportunity. For one evening a year, dozens of kids would come to our front door begging for something sweet.

They were never disappointed – we always had plenty of candy to give out. We also gave out the Bread of Life – God’s Word in the form of a Gospel tract designed especially for kids at Halloween.

This year, let me encourage you to consider handing out our Halloween tracts along with the candy. You can order these tracts today and receive them in time for Halloween. Let’s redeem this holiday and use it to spread the Gospel to a generation that so desperately needs it.
