One of the highlights for the pastors who attend our annual Grace Leadership Conference is the elegant banquet held on the final evening of the conference. The ladies of the Quentin Road Baptist Church set the tables with their finest china, and our men assist as servers for the evening.
I am often amazed as I look around the room and see doctors, CPA’s, lawyers, and many others humbling themselves to serve others. I almost feel embarrassed at times when I find myself being served by these people. I feel like I should be the one serving them.
This is what the Body of Christ should be – believers serving one another in love. The local church functions at its best when Christians are willing to put others above themselves, and cheerfully serve the Lord. We are all members of the same body, and all are necessary for the body to function properly.
Do you willingly serve, or do you hide when there’s work to be done? Decide today that next time there is a job to do, you will be the first to roll up your sleeves and pitch in!
