Today’s Scripture: Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Proverbs¬†31:28

Much is said about the virtuous woman in Proverbs 31. We are told that her price is far above rubies. She can be trusted and will do good all the days of her life. She works willingly with her hands and provides for her family. She works hard, invests her money, is generous, and well prepared. She speaks with wisdom and kindness and looks after her family.Although some say the virtuous woman is unrealistic, I know several women who exemplify this passage. This passage is not a description of some unattainable goal, but a role model we should seek to follow.

Abraham Lincoln recognized the value of a godly mother. He said, “No man is poor who has a godly mother.” A godly mother’s value is enormous. She will be a good influence on her children for the rest of their lives.

Although much value is put on physical beauty, the real beauty of a woman is the inward beauty. A woman’s substance and beauty is her virtue.

We need to praise the virtuous women in our lives. Recognize the blessing they have been to you. Don’t be oblivious to the incredible impact they have had on your life.

This weekend, thank your mom for all that she has done for you. Your mother deserves your praise. Tell her how blessed you are because of her.
