Today’s Scripture: Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip. PsalmĀ 18:36

I want you to notice some things from this verse. First, if God doesn’t enlarge your steps, then you will slip. You are a blind, helpless person without God’s help. Second, God often doesn’t enlarge your steps until you put your weight down. The key words here are “under me.”

God usually waits for you to take a step of faith and follow Him before He shows the next step. Many times, if God showed us where we were going before we started stepping that way, we would quit before our first step. Why? Because we don’t have the faith to believe God can do a task through us.

If you obey God, it is not up to you to produce the results. It is on God; God will own up to it. Do what He wants and leave the results to Him. God’s Word is a lamp to our feet, a light to our paths and will prevent us from sinning against God. (Psalm 119)

Remember, you are a blind, hopeless person without God. So there will be times that what you feel like you should do is not what you should do. The term “follow your heart” is a bad idea. You need to follow God if you do not want to slip on life’s path.

So I challenge you to step out in faith and follow God. You will see that He will enlarge your steps under you. Once you take the first step, than take the next, and the next. When you wander off His path, you will slip. Trust God, because the safest place to be is in the middle of God’s will. Each step will stretch your faith, so you will be able to trust God in the next step that’s revealed to you.
