Today’s Scripture: Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. John 17:17

For nearly 2,000 years, the Bible has stood like a rock. Many seek to destroy it, disprove it, question its relevance, or weaken its power. Yet it stands as firm today as when God first wrote it. But for every rising attack on the Bible, we find new evidence which defends its claim as the inspired Word of God. The Bible stands.

Sometimes Christians unintentionally challenge God’s truth. When we participate in sinful activities, harbor an unforgiving spirit, or mock sinful behavior, we attack God’s Word. Does your life challenge Biblical absolutes? In what activities do you participate? Have you held a grudge against another Christian? Do you find humor in sin?

Even when we challenge its truth, however, the Bible stands. This applies both to its promises and its warnings. We don’t need to take scientists’ and archaeologists’ word for it; it speaks for itself!

So when you sit down to watch television, when you’re offended by a Christian brother, or when you hear an off-color joke, remember your actions will be held accountable to the Bible, which stands forever.
