Today’s Scripture: But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts. 1 Thessalonians 2:4

Imagine if one day your phone rang, and it was the White House calling. On the other end of the line was the President of the United States with a specific task he needed you, and you only, to carry out. Millions of Americans were depending on you to get the job done, and if you failed, they’d be negatively impacted. You’d feel very important to be singled out like that.

Now multiply that importance by millions. We have been given a task from above – not from the White House, but from the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. We have been put in trust with the Gospel of Christ. Millions of souls are depending on us. In this case, the negative impact is not merely a loss of jobs, houses, or possessions – it is an eternity separated from God.

The call to win souls comes from above. It comes from the divine love of the Father, who demonstrated His boundless love by sending His only begotten Son to die for us. It comes from the Son’s divine compassion – a compassion that allowed Him to willingly allow nails to be driven through His feet and hands. Finally, it comes from the Holy Spirit’s divine call – the One Who is working to convict men of their need for a Savior.

We have been charged with delivering the Good News. If we don’t do it, then who will?
