Today’s Scripture: If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Matthew¬†17:20

Would you ever wake up one morning and decide to construct a professional grade, 80,000 sq. ft. multipurpose building? Probably not! But, this was the task that my congregation and I faced when our old building was no longer big enough to meet our church’s growing needs. That journey began in 1984 when the Lord provided us a beautiful 40 acre parcel of land for $240,000 located just miles down the street from our other location. The congregation joined together, kids and all, to construct the new building. When it came time to pour the concrete, it rained and thundered all around us, but our 40 acres remained dry. That is just one of many examples of how God protected and provided until everything was completed in the fall of 1984.

This new building was outgrown quicker than any of us could have imagined. Despite the addition of a gym, by 1995 it became obvious that the facilities could no longer sustain our needs. Once again, it was time to expand! In 1996, our church held a banquet to help gain pledges to provide for a new building, and in May of 1996, we were granted our permit to build. Again, our church members gave up their evenings, their weekends and their strength to make the vision a reality. When it came time to raise the massive metal trusses, the Lord must have sent countless guardian angels. As we went to raise the first beam into the air, it bent like a piece of spaghetti. We lowered it to the ground, went over to the corner of the foundation, and began to pray. The decision was then made to send two men up with the beam to hold come-alongs to keep the beam steady as it was set. A sea of prayers washed over heavens gates that day. By a miracle of God, the framework was set. In the end, 95% of the work was completed by the congregation of Quentin Road. On May 3, 1998, we had our dedication service for the church that faith built.

When you give God your faith the size of a mustard seed, you will see Him move mountains with it. Incredible things await you when you put God first! Please join us at Quentin Road Bible Baptist Church on September 18, 2016, to celebrate all He has done!
