Today’s Scripture: Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift. 2 Corinthians 9:15

In one of our Dayspring Chapel services, I asked the students what kind of car they would want if they could have any car for free. I heard names such as Lamborghini, Maserati, and Rolls-Royce, just to name a few of the responses. I asked the students what they would think of me if I could give each of them the car that they had wished for.

Anyone would be overwhelmed with gratitude at receiving a brand-new vehicle for free. In fact, most folks get excited when they win a drawing for a new phone or tablet. There is something about receiving a valuable item for free that we can all relate to.

What about the One Who gave everything for us? As we continue our breakdown of John 3:16, we find the greatest generosity – He gave.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave…”

The Greatest One Who loved the greatest amount of people to the greatest degree has extended the greatest generosity – eternal life in Heaven. Giving away billions of dollars to charity could not come close to matching the generosity of our God. There is no greater generosity in history, nor will there ever be, than the God Who gave himself for you.

Are you thankful for God’s gift? Does His generosity stir up gratitude within you? I challenge you to live your life as a thank-you to God for His unspeakable gift.
