Today’s Scripture: Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. 11 I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour. Isaiah 43:10-11
Does anyone else get annoyed by what seems to be a proliferation of statistic overload? I’m talking about when you’re trying to enjoy watching a game, and the announcers are tripping over themselves to inform you that “This is the oldest quarterback to throw an interception on his birthday when the score is tied after three quarters on a Monday night.”
There seems to be something about human nature that causes us to take pride in being “the only person to…”. There is that sense of “I’ve gone where no one else has gone before.” We all want to fit in, yet we all want to be unique at the same time.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son…”
The greatest uniqueness is found in Jesus Christ. He is truly One of a Kind. He was unique in that He was born of a virgin. He was the only human being to ever live a sinless life. He was the only One Who could bear the sin debt of all mankind. He’s also the only One to raise Himself from the dead.
His love for you is so great that if you had been the only one who needed saving, He still would have died for you. The Greatest One offers you the most unique gift ever – salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ. Why not take a moment and thank Him today for that gift!
