Today’s Scripture: With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. Matthew 19:26

Our very first church building will always have a special place in my heart. In 1973, a tiny piece of property was purchased on Quentin Road in Palatine, Illinois. An old house there became not only our home, but also the meeting place for the church. The time came to build a real structure. On December 24th, 1973, the first hole for our very first church building was dug and the foundation was poured a few days later. Not long after, the first frame building was erected.

We were brimming with excitement and did everything we could think of to get people out to our church. Due to growth, the church had to issue bonds to raise money for our second auditorium. This building, known as the “Hexagon Building”, tried our faith as we faced brutal weather and unreliable contractors. The people of Quentin Road took over the project from the hired contractor and despite the odds, finished the feat themselves.

Through the congregation God did the incredible. As a result of His strength and faithfulness, we dedicated the new building on October 15, 1978. Every time I looked at those buildings I was reminded of the power of God and how nothing would ever be too big for Him. I began to realize what He was able to accomplish through a little bit of faith and a group of willing believers.

Imagine what God can do in your life through a little willingness and faith!
