Freedom. For years, believers have enjoyed peace of mind in America, safe from religious persecution and rules banning our faith. Thanks to men who stood for truth and Christianity, America has prospered for years and has served as a wonderful place to share our faith.
But our country is changing-quickly. Prayer is no longer allowed in the classrooms of today’s public schools. Churches seem to be rapidly deteriorating along with our society. In the future, our faith may not be as free as it once was. We need to be prepared.
The phrase, “When times get tough, the tough get going,” should hold true for believers. In unsteady times, we can deepen our faith. By pouring ourselves into God’s Word and taking every opportunity we can to share the gospel with others, we can grow closer than ever to our Savior. It is when the days are darkest that our faith can shine the brightest.
In our Scripture passage, we read that although we may have times of rejoicing, we will also endure temptations. But the trial of our faith is more precious than gold. If we are faithful through our temptations, we can bring honor and glory to our King.
Are you anxious about the changing times in America? You may be a teenager who is worried about how difficult the future may become. Perhaps you are an adult who is longing for the good old days. Take this opportunity to dig deeper in your faith. Why not make a list of verses that give you strength and encouragement? Make it a point to share those verses and your faith with others. Now is the time for your faith to shine.
