Today’s Scripture: A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. Proverbs¬†17:17

When we are going through hard times, we want someone to be there for us. We want to know someone is with us through the difficult times. If your “friends” forsake you in times of trouble, they are not true friends. A friend will stick by you through thick and thin. A friend loves at all times.

A friend shows that he cares even if he isn’t present. Knowing that someone is hurting with us can encourage us because we know we are not alone. We can probably all name a couple of people on whom we can rely in times of trouble. But there is a little problem – we aren’t perfect friends. Even though we care, we can’t always be there for the ones we love. Sometimes we don’t know about the trials, and sometimes other things interfere. Even though our desire is to be there, we can’t always.

However, we have a friend who is always there. Jesus has promised never to leave us or forsake us. He is our perfect Friend. No matter what we are going through, no matter how bad we’ve blown it, He is always there and always loving us.

We can turn to Him in our trials and know that He will not only be there through the trial, but that He also will help us endure the trial. We have a Friend who is willing to bear our burdens. Thank God for His promise to love us and never forsake us no matter what we are going through.
