Today’s Scripture: But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

Christ has for sin atonement made –
What a wonderful Savior!
We are redeemed, the price is paid –
What a wonderful Savior!
– E.A. Hoffman

How often do we stop and appreciate what Christ did for us on the cross? I think, probably not often enough. I don’t believe we can fully comprehend the extent to which Christ went to redeem us. We cannot imagine what He gave up in glory to come to this earth. The physical abuse and pain He suffered on the cross is more than we can put into words, and there is no way to describe what it was like for the Son of God to take on all the sin of the world.

Yet, despite all He has done for us, we constantly fail Him. We doubt His goodness when we are tossed by life’s storms. We question Him when He works in ways we don’t understand. We forget Him when things are going well. We ignore Him when He urges us to witness to an unsaved coworker. Yet, if we truly considered the payment He made, we would see we have no excuse.

He proved His love for us beyond a shadow of a doubt when He died on Calvary. Spend some time today thanking Him for His love for you and purpose to show Him your love today.
