Today’s Scripture: Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. Revelation¬†2:5

Crime is out of control, drugs and alcohol are flooding our streets, adultery and homosexuality are rampant, and millions of babies die from abortion every year. How did we get to this place? The answer lies in our rejection of the Bible.

Too many times, we as Christians are content to sit back instead of standing up for what is right. Scripture tells us where God stands on an issue, but because we don’t want to offend anyone, we decide that God’s Word only applied to a certain time and no longer applies to us. Because we have been afraid to stand on God’s Word, we have sat on the sidelines and watched as sin worked to destroy the morality of our nation.

From kindergarten on, our children are learning that there is no God. They are learning to interpret the world without the need for God, and so, their thinking is completely absent of God. If man evolved from apes, would it be wrong to kill lesser species? Unfortunately, there are people who think this way, and they have no regard for others – including the unborn.

How can we fight the Christian fight without our only weapon? The Bible has been removed from our schools and courtrooms, and our churches have become motivational clubs instead of places to learn God’s Word. Too many people want to feel good about themselves rather than learn the truth. Sadly, even more don’t really care about God at all. We have removed the source of truth and instead, based our country on our deceitful, wicked hearts.

That’s not to say that America is ruined. We still have the greatest country on Earth. Our Founding Fathers established this nation on the principles of God’s Word, and we have been blessed for it. We have also stood with Israel, and God has promised that He will bless those that bless Israel. However, we are quickly turning our back on God and lessening our support of Israel. That is a dangerous position to be in. Pray for our leaders that they would make decisions based on God’s Word, and that we could once again be “a nation under God,” built on His Word.
