Why doesn’t God let us see the outcome of our faith in our trials? Anxious thoughts raced through their minds as Amram and Jochebed waited for news about their baby’s fate: Is he safe? Has the little ark sprung a leak? What if a hungry crocodile attacks him? Having done all they could, they were forced to trust God.
Their hearts leapt at the sound of Miriam’s approaching footsteps. She brought good news. Pharaoh’s daughter adopted the baby and sought a nurse to care for him. Jochebed would now be paid to raise her baby son. The Lord provided in a miraculous way and in His perfect timing.
If we could see the final outcome of God’s plan, we would never trust Him. But in the uncertain darkness, we’re forced to trust. We must rely upon Him to carry us. That’s faith. Faith brightens our pathway with the promises of God. David wrote, “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1).
When we face darkness, God is our Light. When we grow weary, He is our Strength. You may be in the dark with a difficult family situation. You thought you had it under control, only to falter beneath a load of doubt and sorrow. Trust God. He will provide.
