|Today’s Scripture: For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39|
|If we were asked if God’s Word was true, I’m sure we would all answer in the affirmative. If we were asked if God loves us or if He can be trusted, I’m sure we would say, “Yes!” Yet in spite of our knowledge and acceptance of these facts, sometimes we don’t live like we believe these things. The problem is that knowing these things is different than being persuaded of them. We can know something by reading it, but being persuaded is to be so convinced of something that we act upon it.
The Apostle Paul was persuaded that the love of God is greater than anything we could ever face. He faced so many trials and difficult circumstances in his life, but he understood that nothing could keep him from God’s love. No situation, problem, or creature could ever come between God’s love and him.
So let me ask you, are you persuaded “that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature is able to separate you from the love of God”? Is it something that you are so convinced of that it changes the way you live your life?
This list gives four sets of extremes we could face. First, we have the extremes of life-life and death. Second, we have the extremes of power-angels, principalities, and powers. Third, we have the extremes of time-things present and to come. Finally, we have the extremes of distance-height and depth. On top of that, in case he missed anything, he concludes with any other creature. Whether we are alive or dead, whether the world and the demons fight against us, no matter what we or anyone does now or in the future, and no matter how far away we are, God’s love for us cannot be broken.
No matter what we are facing today, remember that God’s love will never fail. We also need to remember that God’s love is for the whole world and that He provided a way of salvation. We need to tell everyone we can that God loves them with that same never-ending love. Let’s share the gospel with someone today so that they will never have to be separated from His love.
