Today’s Scripture: Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 1¬†John¬†3:2

After undergoing yet another surgery to rid her of cancer, fifty-four-year-old Cindy sat up in her hospital bed. “John, do you ever feel like life is just not worth it? After all, what do we have to look forward to? Why bother?”

Her husband gently squeezed her hand, “We have everything to look forward to. Someday, we will never have to deal with sickness again. We will be like Jesus and see Him as He is. It is this hope that keeps us going. We must use this life as best we can to glorify Him until then.”

Trials come and the tears begin to flow. We wonder if living for Christ is really worth it. Jesus never said the Christian life would be easy, but He did give us something to look forward to. When He appears, we will be like Him. We will see Him face to face in all His magnificent glory. Our suffering will be over and the tears dried from our eyes. Our reward for pressing on will await us.

Do you want to be able to look on His face and know you didn’t give up? Perhaps you just lost a loved one. Maybe you are struggling with an illness. Remember, friend, in Heaven there will be no more suffering and pain. Live the life you have for His glory. Press on because you have everything to look forward to.
