Today’s Scripture: For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

The world is full of people who need to hear the message of salvation. The Apostle Paul went throughout the world sharing the gospel. He reached so many people with the gospel, but what many people fail to realize is that it is not the pastor’s job to witness. It’s not the evangelist’s job, or the teacher’s job – it’s the Christian’s job.

The great commission was not just directed to the Apostles; it wasn’t just directed to those in full-time ministry. God wants us all to go preach the gospel. Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 15 that he delivered the gospel unto them which he had received. Once we receive the message of the gospel (Christ died for our sins, and rose from the dead as stated here), we have a responsibility to deliver it to others. The only way the world can be reached is if we all do our job.

For example, if we were to take a mission trip to China and share the gospel in a crusade, and 3,000 people got saved, that would be incredible. If we did that for a whole week, and every day, 3,000 people got saved, 21,000 people would have trusted Christ over that incredible week. After seeing so many people get saved, we realize we couldn’t stop now, so we decide to stay a month. As this continues every day, we see 90,000 people trust Christ that month. If we were to stop the population from growing, it would take over 1,241 years to reach the 1,360,763,000 people of China. (Population at end of 2013) Current estimates of China’s population are now over 1.39 billion and would add an additional 27.5 years to the time required to reach them.

However, we cannot stop China from growing, and the Chinese people living today do not have over 1,200 years left for us to reach them. The same applies to India and the rest of the world. The only way to reach them is if we all reach those we can. If you went out and reached 1 person with the gospel, you both reached another, and that continued each day, it would take less than 31 days to reach the people of China.

You might say that would never happen. You couldn’t get that many people to witness every day. But if we changed it from 1 soul a day for each person to 1 soul a year, it would take less than 31 years. Wouldn’t you agree that would be so much better than 1,200+ years?

God has given us all the responsibility to share the gospel. Could you imagine what would happen if we all took that responsibility seriously? Take the time to share the message with someone, and start the multiplication process today.
