|The teacher asked for a volunteer. The students sat wondering, ‘What does he want? Should I volunteer? What if he embarrasses me?’ Finally, a girl in the back raised her hand.
“I’ll go,” she said.
“Thanks, Sally. This envelope needs to go to Principal Harris’ office.”
As Sally left the room, the other students wished they had volunteered – if only to get out of class for a few minutes.
Are you willing to go when God asks for volunteers? You may not know ahead of time how He is going to use you, but you will know when it’s time. He may not tell you where He wants you, but He will let you know when you get there. God doesn’t ask us to do things that we aren’t able to do. When He provides an opportunity, don’t sit around and debate whether or not to take it, be willing to do what He asks.
Has God called you to the mission field? Are you willing to go? Have you been asked to help out in Sunday school? Will you do it? Has God placed you in a secular job? Are you being a witness to your co-workers? God has placed each of us in unique situations for the jobs He has for us to do. Purpose to take the opportunities God has given you today.
