Today’s Scripture: Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such that are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. Revelation¬†5:12-13

When we first get to Heaven, we won’t care about the streets of gold. We will rush past our friends and family who have gone on before us. We won’t stop to talk to the saints and hear their great stories of faith. Instead, we’ll go straight to the throne of God and worship Him. As great as all of the wonders of Heaven will be, they are nothing when compared with seeing our Savior face to face.

Our immediate reaction upon entering Heaven will be an understanding of our unworthiness and an outburst of thankfulness that He saved us. As sinners, we deserve to spend eternity separated from God in Hell, but He loved us enough to die for us. No amount of service or worship could ever come close to repaying what He has done for us.

Someday, we will be in Heaven with Him, but until then, what are we doing to show Him our love and adoration? Are we living lives that express our gratitude for all He has done or are we consumed with the things of the world? Are our lives a light to the lost; are we leading them to Christ or away from Him?

Let’s show God our thankfulness each and every day and live in a way that will bring glory to Him. We need to thank Him for His love and worship Him because He alone is worthy of all glory, honor, power, and blessing.
