Today’s Scripture: Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day:  And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known. Deuteronomy 11:26-28

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. Genesis 1:4

The awesome power of God is displayed so beautifully in creation. We look in amazement at the world around us-the breath-taking landscapes and life on this planet, the intricate details in the microscopic world, and the incredible vastness and beauty of space. Just think, it was all created by God simply speaking. We, like the Psalmist, should wonder, “When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?” (Psalm 19:3-4) We are nothing when compared to all that God has done.

Yet when it comes to living our lives, we seem to think we know better than He does. God has given us commands in His Word about how we are to live, but many times we ignore what He has to say. We question His wisdom and think we have a better solution to the situation we are facing.

The problem with this thinking is that we are neglecting the ability of our Creator. He knows what is best and when we go against His commandments, we are only hurting ourselves. We are told in Proverbs 16:25, “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”

If we think that we have the answers for life, our lives will end up in total ruin. It is only when we live in accordance to the Word of God that we can have God’s blessing on our lives. We need to remember, man’s way leads to a hopeless end, but God’s way leads to an endless hope. So, which way will you choose today, your way or God’s?
